A Naturalismo Exclusive: I’m proud to debut “Hartford Blues,” a new track from Fire on Fire’s upcoming full-length album The Orchard, released December 10 on Young God Records.

From Chriss:

The Orchard was recorded in our living room at The Blue House (Tank 28) during the late winter and early spring of 2006. It is maybe the sixth or seventh full length record record at that house over the past 13 years.

It was engineered by Caleb Mulkerin which was no easy feat as he was playing as well. We recorded all the tracks live as we were well rehearsed. Their are a few vocal over dubs and I think a bit of bass over dubs but I would venture to say that 95% of the trackage is live.

It has a nice power to it as it was the end of Cerberus Shoal and the beginning of Fire on Fire so the energy is new and good. The experience was wonderful as it was completely acoustic and like I said almost totally live so the immediacy and the idea of “a record in time” was very intense… at least for me.
