New Kevin Ayers (of the Soft Machine) album
August 1, 2007

It was fifteen years ago that Kevin Ayers, founding member of the incredible band the Soft Machine (and naturalismo motto writer), last released an album. On September 3, The Unfairground will see release after nearly two years in the making. Recorded everywhere from New York to Tucson, the Unfairground has quite the array of guest artist appearances including: Julian Kostner of Neutral Milk Hotel, Psychedelic Furs keyboardist Joe McGinty, Bridget St. John, and many others. More information is available at Kevin-Ayers.com. For now you can watch this video for the Soft Machines “We know what you mean” (Soon, Soon, Soon) one of my favorite songs of all time and a video I like to post at any opportunity I can. (For the full NSFW version, check above) As far as I know it’s only available on their early live BBC sessions, maybe I’ll post it in a bit.
