Wooden Wand… er WWVV
April 6, 2007

Mr. Cognomen man himself James Jackson Toth of Wooden Wand has changed names once again to become WWVV in proparation for the release of his new album James & the Quiet. This is all old news though as I caught wind this morning that the name changery has yet to cease and James Jackson has already come up with a new moniker. The anonymous source wasn’t quite sure what it was yet, but he was certain that it would be announced shortly and that it would arrive with more details of his upcoming album (As in the one after the album that hasn’t been released yet). This is all very interesting but I think I would rather listen to Wooden Wand’s fantastic new album than try to keep track of it all. James & The Quiet sounds to me like a collaboration between Phil Ochs and early Stones at times. Some of it is stripped down pleasant folk but where I think it really shines is when James lets loose with the electric guitar and sings with a more intense swagger. Wooden Wand’s “James & The Quiet” hits stores May 15th. For now you can check out the following song from it:
“You don’t need to be wooly, you don’t need to be worried.”
