Admittedly, I’ve been more of a casual fan of Caribou’s past musical endeavors done under his former name of Manitoba- it was with some reluctance that I turned on his most recent release Andorra only to soon discover that he had truly (in my mind) hit his stride. Andorra quickly became one of my favorite releases of 2007. With its traces of the Velvets, Soft Machine, and more-it is pure contemporary 60’s bliss. Caribou’s perfect sounds of those timeless melodies are mixed with enough originality to make Andorra truly stand off on its own. You may have already seen these tour dates but it always helps to be re-reminded. You also probably haven’t seen this great mini documentary about the making of Andorra. The documentary features some snippets only included on his new Tour Only CD-which I have included as a link below for your listening/downloading pleasure. I’ve also put up the new video for the song She’s the one. I was told that the Tour CD was only available at a few shows, but it is a really great listen! Grab it at the link here:
