I absolutely abhor writing about music, it’s nearly as bad as reading about it-almost. The entire concept is pretty absurd if you ask me, there’s something to be said about listening to a painting or watching a song that puts things into context. Enjoy it within its means of medium I say. If it wasn’t for those songs that send a spark through my hair and down my spine, I’d never set a pen to paper or finger to key. I’m more inclined to enjoy music journalism as a form of curatorial outlet than self biased personal ramblings. I think we’re living in a particularly interesting point in music journalism where for the first time the medium makes sense.
Here’s the music: listen.

Naturalismo is a stream (a mountain, a mist) of sound that rings and rustles and cracks and howls and drips and bends, creaks and whispers, trickles and moans. It’s a hollow log, nested by birds, resonating with the tweet-tweet of hungry mouths. It’s dance. It’s the realization of the ‘self’ found in all: channeled through, and colored by, the lenses of instrumental and elemental expression.

Hello Mr. Natural and as always the beautiful Ms. Ismo.
I’m a music fan just like you, with a bit of OCD I think, also just like you.
I’m writing to you about one of my favorite bands. They’re called The Lightning Bug Situation.
The main guy in the group is also Jolie Holland’s guitar player and counts Kyp Malone of TV On the Radio as a fan. He’s the real deal. Here’s a little fan page I made up for his band:

Yes, I swear there is a correlation just like frickin Dark Side of the Moon and Wizard of Oz and I think once the new album comes out AND you listen to it while watching the 1972 Solaris with the sound off you will be blown away. Much like I was. And maybe by the time the album comes out the band will admit to there actually being a correlation–I mean, c’mon–there totally is!
Thanks for reading, you’ve got a superb blog.

I moved from NY to Melbourne, Australia. We have this event twice a year called CONFEST. Folkers gather together in the forest or bush so to speak for like 4 days and we just play music, swimming in the river, meditating, and more, like a small utopia. I’m moving back to NY and thinking of moving out to san fran. Any suggestion where to hang out?
