Language of Stone

January 10, 2008

Founded in the summer of 2007 by Greg and Jessica Weeks, Language of Stone is quickly becoming a label to keep an eye on. With his affinity for analog recording and supportive approach to the artists he helps record, Weeks presence is felt throughout Stones repertoire. In November Language of Stone saw the release of Mountain Homes beautiful self titled debut and the wonderful Orion Rigel Dommisse album”What I Want From You Is Sweet.’ With two exciting new releases by Ilya Monosov and Ex Reverie slated for release January 22nd now is as good a time as ever to get yourself acquainted.

Ilya’s Winter Lullaby sounds like a Spanish waltz with Cohenesque vocals. I have really been enjoying this song from his upcoming album.

I just got this album and am quite entranced by her quirky vocal flourishes and dark acoustic sound scapes.

Ex Reverie’s debut record, The Door into Summer, will be released on January 22, 2008 by Language of Stone. Said to be in a period reminiscent of Bolan’s transition from acoustic to the electric. Download Orange Flame.
