Johnathan Wilson just released his debut solo album “Frankie Ray” last month, yet he has already entered the studio again to record with Andy Cabic (Vetiver) and Otto Hauser (Devendra, Vetiver, Espers) to lay down some new tracks for his next album. You can get a first listen of Wilson’s new material today here at Naturalismo. The first song to come out of the recordings is ‘Desert Raven’ with Andy Cabic on guitar, which you can download below. Andy says that the new songs he’s been playing with Jonathan feature some of his best guitar playing yet. To give you an idea of what to expect on future recordings; I heard that Wilson was recently jamming in Laurel Canyon with Steven McCarty from Dead Meadow, Jenny Lewis, Johnathan Rice, Entrance, and Jason Yates from Ben Harper’s Band. I’m excited to hear what comes out of that session.

Great song, actually that is Jonathan Wilson’s guitar work on that track, not Andy Cabic!

Are you positive? In the e-mail I got it made the point of saying in specific that it was Andy’s guitar on the track?? Hmmm…
